This blog is a piece of shit. I have nothing interesting to say, but for some reason I feel like saying it anyway. I guess I’ve always wanted to author something but I’m way too lazy to write a book, but mostly I think I’m doing this out of sheer boredom. I’m just really fuckin bored.
My first blog was back in 2002 just before people started saying the word “blog” with regularity. It was called Lost in Korea and the purpose was to create a record of half-truths about the 3 years I spent teaching English - and getting totally fucking hammered - in Korea. The blog kind of died near the end of my first year there because (a) living overseas wasn’t really “new” anymore, and (b) I’m lazy as hell. It did, however, attract a small following and today I’m still good friends with two jackasses who emailed me through the blog and caught up with me in Seoul after reading about all the stupid shit I was doing there.
If I get motivated enough I might resurrect an archived copy of Lost in Korea for the benefit of people who are going to do the teach-in-Korea thing like I did. Until then, this crappy blog is it. I live in Chicago, I have a job, and I have a dog and that’s basically the sum total of my existence right now, hence the reason this blog sucks.
